Cookies & Cocktails Colab – DIY picnic basket lining June 18, 2014 – Posted in: DIY – Tags: , , , , , ,

Our Cookies & Cocktails colab styled shoot (see part 1 and part 2) with Lindie Meyer and Laura Mitchell was so much fun.

We put a dreamy picnic setting and no picnic is complete without a picnic basket…

Here’s how to go about making your own picnic basket lining.

What you need:

1. A basket you already have.
2. Fabric.
3. Hem tape.
4. Scissors.
5. An Iron.

Step One || Measure the length of the fabric you will need, also mark out where your handles are. In my case I made a small hole (see images below) to accommodate the handle. Each basket is unique, adjust your fabric to suit your basket.

Step Two || Cut off any access fabric you may have.

Step Three || Place hem tape in place and fold over edges, then iron over the folds. The heat activates the hem tape sticking it together giving you a beautiful clean edge.

Step Four || Iron all the edges again.

Step Five || And you are done…
