My lovely friend Melissa, all things interior extraordinaire, just recently launched a blog & one of her first posts is all about a morning at the Milnerton Market, which caught my eye. Seeing as though it is a local gem I thought id share some pictures of my finds over the years. If you have never been to the milnerton market and you live in Cape Town, you should give it a look.
Its not your ‘find a vintage Louis Vuitton’ type second hand market, it’s mainly piles of junk & if you spot a great item & put it in a better context it really glows. Who doesn’t love something with a bit of history (mystery?)
From personal experience: Open Saturday & Sunday – Better to go before 1pm as the stalls dont have set times & some start to pack up early. Very weather dependant as its outdoors, so go when the weather is nice. Wear walking shoes! I prefer a Sunday, seems to be nicer stalls on that day! Bring cash with as there are no ATM’s close by. Keep an open mind and look

As you can see I go through many phases, there was a old fashioned tin phase, a clock phase, a glass phase and then I once even bought an axe??
