Ylang-Ylang & Geranium Body Oil | Lulu & Marula DIY Skincare Colab

Jesslyn from Lulu & Marula got in contact with us & and suggested we take on creating some DIY skin care goodies. We jumped at the opportunity as this is something we have never tried! We have done TONS of DIYS but never skin care orientated (& we like a challenge!) I have been a fan of Lulu & Marula since I bought her bath oil at Kamers in JHB earlier this year. She makes some divine ‘spoil yourself’ goodies and she has such a cool and well designed brand. So here is our take on a DIY body oil!

Not everything goes perfectly! So to be completely honest we struggled to find all of the oils the original recipe needed. Instead of giving up I did some searching around online and found alternatives. I have listed them below with a star *

You will need:
50ml Grape seed carrier oil
45ml Jojoba carrier oil
5ml Avocado oil (*Wheatgerm Carrier Oil)
10 drops Ylang-Ylang essential oil  (*Neroli Essential Oil)
10 drops Geranium essential oil

Combine the ingredients in a measuring jug, mixing until everything is thoroughly combined. Pour into a glass pump bottle, or an old body oil/liquid hand soap container.

“The grape seed and jojoba oils are very light and easily absorbed into your skin, making this body oil hydrating without being greasy. The wheatgerm oil is very high in vitamin E, not only great for repairing and protecting skin, but it also helps to preserve the life of your 100% natural body oil.” – Jesslyn from Lulu & Marula

Thanks for reading. I’m all about a budget friendly Christmas this year after really going all out last year. I love this idea for gifts for the ladies in my family.
