Zana around the world #2

“Zana around the world” is a blog series I have started to show you some of our stockists around the world, see #1 here.

Next off we head to Auckland, New Zealand – home to Sarah of XO HOME LIMITED

“XO Home was started out of a want to work for myself, I had toyed with the idea for years and finally after getting married in March last year my husband and I decided the time was right for me to leave my 9-5 and go out on my own.  I wanted to provided New Zealanders with the opportunity to purchase beautiful, quality handmade homewares, something a little different to what is currently on offer.  What makes us special is that all of our suppliers are independent businesses who design and make their products, no factories or mass production here!

My past positions have been in administration and buying in homeware / design based industries, from these roles I gained a lot of knowledge and experience which I feel set me up well to take on the challenge of running my own business.  I pride myself on providing excellent customer service and I always strive to do the best by my customers.  XO Home is always evolving with new products and suppliers, I’m really excited for the future.” – Sarah

Q: What is the design concept of your store/showroom/home office?
A: I run XO Home from my home.  I have an office upstairs where all of my administration is taken care of and downstairs is where I keep the majority of my stock, this is also where all the wrapping and packing occurs.  I keep some stock upstairs for inspiration and also for ease when answering any product related questions like measurements and color clarification.  I wanted to keep the 2 areas separate so I can focus on the task at hand.  My office is my haven, I love it, clean, tidy and calm.

Q: Which of our products are your favourite?
A: Your cushion covers, I love the designs and they are such great quality.  The fabric is durable yet soft enough to rest your weary head on.

Q: Which of our products are your best sellers?
A: Cushion covers! Especially the “Hello there sunshine/Good morning beautiful” set, followed by the monochrome swiss crosses.

Q: What do you love most about South African design?
A: I love that you provide the best of both worlds, monochromatic and colorful.  I think South African design is fun and inspiring.
